OOPS….  That said, I  do have a valid  excuse!  I was so busy being committed to my OTHER… Continue reading Miracle Morning… I Hate You….

It Takes More Than a Village

Since my last post, I was in a minor car accident, everyone except for the baby got strep throat, the baby had a massive ear infection, the stomach flu ran rampant through our Thanksgiving vacation, my oldest has been in a bajillion nutcracker performances, the election consumed too much of my brainpower, we’ve had some… Continue reading It Takes More Than a Village

Stand Up Straight, Super Woman!

You guys.  This is hard.  Really, really hard.  I’ve had a rough couple of weeks trying to manage everything.  Thus my silence and lack of posting!  I try to post helpful and motivational things, and I definitely keep it light, but I try to keep it real, too.  I mean, I did share that I… Continue reading Stand Up Straight, Super Woman!

Happiness is how to be successful…

I am still figuring out the protocol for posting links to other articles on this blog.  But this one cannot be ignored. http://www.cnbc.com/2016/09/07/billionaire-richard-bransons-favorite-quote-helps-explain-why-hes-so-successful.html Big ups to Kathleen Elkins at CNBC for capturing this so nicely! It’s nice to see that there’s proof to my happiness theory.  And me thinks that Richard Branson is just about… Continue reading Happiness is how to be successful…

Blue Apron Saved My Marriage

Seriously.  I attribute the relative strength and welfare of my marital state to Blue Apron. Yes, the food delivery service.  Now, I know what some of you are thinking.  You’re thinking “I’ve read a few of her posts and this chick clearly has a flair for the dramatic.”  And I’m not going to deny that,… Continue reading Blue Apron Saved My Marriage

Work/Life Tip: Over-Communicate. No really, Over-Communicate!

And when you think you have already over-communicated, over-communicate some more.  Trust me on this one.  Don’t assume everyone knows where you are, or what you’re doing.  Because I promise you, they don’t. Now, the big thing everyone is always talking about is “generational differences” and how they impact the workplace.  Millennials get all the… Continue reading Work/Life Tip: Over-Communicate. Work/Life Tip: “The Voice in my Head is An A**hole”

I truly, truly, truly wish I could take credit for the title of this post.  But sadly, I cannot.  It comes from the very first sentence in the preface of 10% Happier: How I Tamed the Voice in My Head, Reduced Stress Without Losing My Edge, and Found Self-Help That Actually Works-A True Story by… Continue reading Work/Life Tip: “The Voice in my Head is An A**hole”

Work/Life Tip – The Power of Self Motivation

As I’ve begun this commitment to 365 days of happiness, I am discovering that some days I sort of have to fake it.  I HATE the expression “fake it until you make it” but in this circumstance it’s so true.  I want to be dynamic, I want to be engaging, I want to be powerful… Continue reading Work/Life Tip – The Power of Self Motivation

I choose happiness.

I choose happiness. Today was my first day back at work after Baby #3. It was emotional. It was hard. There were tears. Lots of tears. I turned to Facebook to vent for a moment. As I often do, I turned to the written word to express what I was having a hard time articulating through tear-filled eyes. The response was overwhelming. The kindness of my friends and colleagues has warmed my heart and filled my head with ideas. With encouragement from friends and family, I am committing to documenting my journey in choosing happiness in work/life integration.
